Indian Army conducts ‘Know Your Army’ outreach
ITANAGAR, Mar 20: In a memorable display of team game marked with courage and determination, the sub-junior boys hockey team of Arunachal Pradesh today trounced mighty Bihar by a solitary goal in the on-going Sub-Junior Men's Hockey National Championship in Narwana, Haryana.
Despite the win which is twice in a row in the league phase, Arunachal may not progress into the quarter final round due to goal differences. After going down to Delhi 1-3 in its opening encounter, the state’s boys bounced back with a thumping victory in the second match by thrashing Himachal Pradesh 7-0. Hockey Arunachal has conveyed its appreciation to the boys and their coach Shivkumar Saini for taking Arunachal to the national mainstream. It has also thanked its Secretary, Sonam Tenzin for single-handedly sponsoring the huge expenditure without support from any quarters.
It needs mentioning that the tournament is an annual calendar event of Hockey India, the sole governing body of the game in the country.
