TAWANG, Mar 5: The students of Government Town Secondary School (GTSS) here in the township today received free solar lamps from the hands of Deputy
Commissioner of Tawang, Sang Phuntsok in presence of Head Mistress Anku Padi and other officials.
The event was part of the ongoing Free Distribution of Solar Study Lamps Scheme (Phase-III) rolled out by the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy under which all government school students studying in classes I-X across the state are being covered. PO APEDA Tawang Lobsang Chudup gave a demonstration to the students on how to use the solar lamps. The DC while distributing the lamps urged the students to perform well in the upcoming board examinations. The school’s Headmistress conveyed gratitude to the DC and APEDA for selecting the school as the first to receive the solar study lamps in Tawang district.
DDSE Hridhar Phuntsok was also present on the occasion. DIPRO
