ITANAGAR, Nov 19:  All Pakke Kessang District Students Union (APKDSU) has served a 5-day ultimatum to the  District Medical Officer (DMO), Pakke Kessang to rectify the altered advertisement issued by District Health Society (DHS), Lemmi.
Addressing the media persons at the press club here on Friday, APKDSU President Nera Gumro said that an advertisement was issued for the posts of District Programme Management staff under National Health Mission (NHM), Naharlagun. However, the post advertised by the DHS was totally different from the actual post sanctioned for the district by the Mission Director, NHM, Naharlagun.
He said the post advertised by NHM is for District Programme Manager (DPM), District Accounts Manager (DAM), District Community Mobiliser (DCM) and District Data manager (DDM).
“Surprisingly, the post entirely changed which was later advertised by DHS. The post of DAM was changed to Block Account Manager (BAM), DCM into Block Community Manager (BCM) and DDM into Block Data Manager (BDM),” he said, adding that the DHS has no right to alter the post according to their whim.
He also informed the members of the students union met the Mission Director, who categorically said the post was for district level and not for the block.
“The district health department should provide us with a specific reason behind the alteration. If there is any law to alter the post, the public should be made aware of it,” he said.
Meanwhile, APKDSU General Secretary Thaddeus Techi said the reasoning provided by the DMO is not satisfactory. He said the post allocated by the office memorandum is purely contractual and not promotional. Therefore, the DHS should re-advertise the same posts as the rest of the six districts did as per the office memorandum issued by Mission Director, NHM, Naharlagun.

He also claimed that the DHS recruited the staff without any examination as directed by the NHM. Moreover, it selected those staff that are already serving in Block levels.
“The post is not promotional, therefore there should be proper examination and accordingly new staff should be recruited,” he added.
