ZIRO, May 10: The Apatani Students' Union after receiving numerous complaints from the public regarding price hike of commodities conducted a surprise checking campaign in shops within Ziro and Hapoli areas.
During the campaign which went on from May 6-9, the union handed commodities rate list produced by APMC and District Administration to all the shopkeepers and also cautioned against charging extra and asked them to stick to rates as mentioned in the list only.
Union also urged not to initiate price hike even if lockdown is implemented in future unless the new modified rate list is issued by the concerned authority.
ASU also imparted awareness to shopkeepers to maintain SOPs for COVID-19 and to follow it strictly.
