Kanubari, Sep 15: A student leader from Longding, serving as Assistant General Secretary (AGS), Wancho Students' Union, Wangchai Wangsu, died in a road accident on Monday. He was also the General Secretary of NEHRO Longding district unit.
As informed by Mr Pongngoi Joham, President WSU, late Wangsu was travelling to Assam in a vehicle when it reportedly skidded off the road after hitting a parked vehicle by the roadside while trying to avoid stray cattle lying on the road. The deceased was later evacuated to AMC Dibrugarh where he was declared as brought dead.
 Pongngoi in his condolence message said that "he has not only lost his friend but also his companion who always worked shoulder to shoulder with him as a student leader."
"It is so sad to know of the sudden and untimely death of Wangchai Wangsu, AGS Wancho Students' Union. May God give strength to his bereaved family members to overcome the saddest and painful moment", said Minister for RWD Honchun Ngandam in his condolence message.

MLA Kanubari GD Wangsu, MLA Longding Tanpho Wangnaw, Deputy Commissioner Longding Cheshta Yadav and SP BB Reddy including civil societies of Wancho community also mourned his death. 
His body has been brought to Longhua village and handed over to his family members . The body will be kept at his residence for his friends and relatives to pay their last homage and his last rites and burial will be carried out Wednesday afternoon. ES Newsdesk
