MIAO, Jul 24:  More than 100 employees working under Namdapha National Park  have withdrawn their weeks-long agitation after assurance of release of 15-months pending salaries from the concerned department.
Employees under Namdapha National Park Project Tiger were on strike since July 2 last demanding release of their 15 months pending salaries.
Speaking to media, Asham Mossang employee of the NNP informed that before resorting to the indefinite strike they had submitted a memorandum to the authority with a one-month ultimatum but it evoked no response.  Most of the employees are dependent on their meager salary and during this pandemic we have faced worst situation, which compelled us to stand against our own authority, he said.
Today we have withdrawn our agitation as the authority has assured to release the salary which is a great relief for all of us, stated Mossang while adding that they expect  regular salary instead of blocking it for months and months that cause unspeakable problems.
Meanwhile, Field Director, NPP-PT, Tapek Riba informed that as soon as his office receives the fund he will immediately release the salary of the employees. Due to lockdown since last many months, file movement has been halted causing delay in releasing the fund, he stated.
