Yupia, Apr 17: District Health Society, Papum Pare on Friday extended mental and physical health counselling to nearly 80 stranded migrant labourers currently sheltered here at the two relief camps.
A team of experts from the Mental Health Centre comprising Clinical Psychologist Midpu Nabam Yeni, Psychiatrist Social Worker (PSW) Dagrik Gara and PSW Poona Baja gave counselling to them besides sensitising on Covid-19. District Medical Officer Dr. Subu Tasso Kampu shared that some labourers in these relief camps are having signs and symptoms of stress and are in need of counselling and the initiative is an effort to address the same. She also informed that District Health Society is leaving no stone unturned in monitoring the health and hygiene of labourers through proper medical check-ups, medicines etc.
