ITANAGAR, Jun 9: In view of news reports relating to the death of a lioness at Vandalur Zoo, Chennai purportedly due to Covid-19 and several other lions of the same zoo also testing Covid positive, the DCF (WL&BD) has announced that all wildlife zoos in Arunachal Pradesh will remain closed for visitors until further notice.
The step has been taken keeping in mind the latest instances of zoo animals getting infected possibly through Covid-19-infected visitors. All the concerned zoo officials have been instructed to follow the order in letter and spirit.
