Roing, Sep 23: Childline Roing, a 24-hour phone emergency outreach service for children in need of care and protection was inaugurated today by Deputy Commissioner, Lower Dibang Valley district Mitali Namchoom here at Mayu I.
The second in the state, it is the project of the Ministry of Women And Child Development linking the state government, NGOs, allied systems and the corporate sector and is being implemented by AMYAA NGO, Roing. During the inaugural programme, DC advised the members to attend to all the distress calls made in the helpline number in a responsive and sensitive manner. Director (AMYAA NGO) RK Paul Chawang informed about the service and expressed the organisation's commitment for upholding the fundamental rights of each and every children. He also informed about the awareness camps conducted for the business establishments, government departments, households etc regarding the Childline service. OC (PS) N. Sora spoke on the occasion and DD(ICDS), representatives of BSNL, Labour and Employment Department and AMYAA NGO were present on the occasion.
