ITANAGAR, Nov 7: Two more deaths, one each on Friday and Saturday has pushed the state’s Covid casualty tally to 45.
According to the State Covid Bulletin, a 58-year old male from Ziro in Lower Subansiri district died on Saturday at DCH Chimpu. He was suffering from chronic kidney ailment and was on dialysis with Covid-19 infection. The other casualty which occurred on the earlier day was of a 55-year old male from Likabali in Lower Siang district who also died at DCH Chimpu after being referred by Niba Hospital, Naharlagun. Besides Covid infection the patient had the comorbidities of hypertension and diabetes.
Among the 64 new positive cases (Asymptomatic 49; Symptomatic 15) that were added on Saturday, the ICR had 15, followed by Lower Dibang Valley 13 and Shi Yomi 12. Meanwhile, with 106 recoveries on the day (ICR 37; Namsai 14; Lower Subansiri 12 the top three), the state’s overall discharge/recovery figure has now touched 13785, of which the ICR has recorded 4615.
The total number of current active cases of the state stood at 1559 as on Saturday, of which the ICR has 896.
