ITANAGAR, Jun 17: With 3 more Covid-related deaths, the state’s Covid casualty on Thursday rose to 158. Recoveries continued to be greater than new cases like the preceding day.
A 52-yr old female from Changlang with several comorbidities and vaccinated with the first dose expired at his residence on Wednesday evening due to Covid pneumonia and diabetic nephropathy. A 26-yr old female Covid patient from the ICR with the comorbidity of obesity and not vaccinated died today at DCH Chimpu due to ARDS and Covid pneumonia. An 89-yr old female Covid patient also from the ICR suffering from various comorbidities and not vaccinated expired at DCH Chimpu on Wednesday evening due to ARDS, sepsis and Covid pneumonia.
A total of 295 new Covid cases (asymptomatic 173; symptomatic 122) were registered from across the state today with ICR leading with 37.
Changlang (36), Kurung Kumey and West Kameng ( 27 each), Lohit (24) and Tawang (21) were the other major districts contributing to the total. Of the 389 new recoveries, the first 5 districts were- ICR (84), Changlang (50), West Kameng (38), Papum Pare (33) and Lower Subansiri (25). The state on Thursday evening had 2713 active Covid patients and 29612 recoveries. 6469 samples were collected from across the state on the day.
With a record 11886 beneficiaries in the 18-44 age group taking their first dose, the vaccination coverage in this segment has now reached 18 %. In the 45+ age category, 1643 took their first dose and 21 their 2nd dose.
Occupancy status at the CCCs till Thursday evening was: 41 at DCH Chimpu, 18 at SQF Lekhi, 2 at DCHC Midpu, 6 at DCH Pasighat and 16 at DCHC.
