ITANAGAR, Sep 3: Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday reported the highest single-day spike of covid positive cases since the pandemic began with 214 fresh cases including one more death taking the state's death toll to 8.
As per the State Bulletin, a 70-year old male patient (Non-APST) who was admitted to the Dedicated Covid Hospital at Chimpu on Wednesday passed away on Thursday afternoon. He had a history of coronary artery disease (CAD) with myocardial infarction (MI) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Of the 214 new cases, highest number of 46 cases was reported from Itanagar Capital Complex, 37 in Tirap, 36 in West Siang, 28 in Changlang, 19 in Papumpare, 10 in Lower Dibang Valley, Longding 8, West Kameng 7, East Siang 6, Lower Subansiri, Upper Siang and Tawang reporting 3 each, Shi-Yomi and Lohit reporting 2 each and Upper Subansiri, Leparada, Pakke Kessang and East Kameng reporting 1 each respectively.
Barring 13, rest of the cases are asymptomatic. On a positive note a total 92 patients recovered today and were discharged.
At present there are 1399 active cases and 3167 people have recovered in the state.
