TEZU, Sep 2: State level under-18 Girls Kho - Kho coaching camp was inaugurated here at the premises of VKV Tafragam on Wednesday.
Twenty girls from VKV Nirjuli, Balijan, Roing, Sunpura and Tezu are shortlisted for the coaching camp out of which the best 12 will be selected for the upcoming 40th Junior National Kho Kho Championship to be held at KIIT University ground in Bhubaneswar, Odisha from September 22-26 next. The girls are undergoing a rigorous 18-day coaching camp which will conclude on September 18.
Principal VKV Tafragam, Shanti Manoharam unveiled the camp in the presence of District Sports Officer Lohit, BC Das among others.
Addressing the participants, the district sports officer advised the participants to prepare well as they have got a chance to get selected to take part in the national Kho Kho tournament which will bring prospects for employment under sports quota in future.
A team of skilled coaches has been appointed for the camp to get the best out of the players so that they can excel at national level tournaments and bring accolades for the state. Manuj Dutta (PET) VKV Nirjuli, Ashim Saikia (PET) VKV Tezu and S Henam Indubala Devi Biswas (PET) VKV Tafragam will train the girls accordingly.
