Indian Army conducts ‘Know Your Army’ outreach
ITANAGAR, Aug 4: State Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (SIRD & PR) is currently conducting a 5-day state level training on Panchayat Raj System and Rural Development programmes for the Master Trainers of Anjaw, Tirap, Changlang, Longding and West Kameng districts here at its office in the capital.
Director, SIRD & PR Habung Lampung while addressing the participants underscored the training’s importance in the context of the new two-tier Panchayat Raj System in the state. Since a majority of the population still lives in rural areas, Arunachal Pradesh can be transformed only if these areas are developed and the Master Trainers should be keen learners and keep themselves updated, he said. Resource Persons of the training include faculties from National Institute of Rural Development, Hyderabad, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment & Tribal Affairs and SIRD & PR. Topics that are being covered include PRI systems, resources of panchayats, GPDP-MVMDP, Block and District Development Plans, DPC, Rural Development Programmes and National Social Assistance Programme. Block Development Officers, District Nodal Officers, Panchayat Technical Assistants and Teachers are attending the training which will continue till August 6.
The Master Trainers will disseminate the knowledge gained from the training to the Block level panchayat leaders in their respective districts under Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Yojana Capacity Building Mission of the Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
