PASIGHAT, Mar 16: A week-long state level refresher training course for the teachers of Physical Education and those interested in sports was inaugurated by Special Secretary, Secondary Education & IT, GoAP Shashwat Sourabh here at the Pasighat Outdoor Stadium on Monday.
A total of 37 male and 19 female teachers from across the districts are participating in the refresher training course. DTO (BS & G) Tanya Padung informed that a large number of female teachers interested in sports are taking part in the training which will cover Yoga, Kho Kho, self-defence techniques and topics like importance of sports for school children in maintaining health and hygiene etc. DDSE-cum-Organizing Chairman of the training Jongge Yirang advised the attending teachers to avail the best from the training and YWO L. Sokun Singh informed about the implementation of Yoga and Kho Kho which have been made compulsory in the state’s schools. The Special Secretary advised the teachers to include physical activities for the students.
National Coach Adhitya Chintaman who has been deputed by the Kho Kho Federation of India will train the participants on the game and Rohit Bori from the Art of Living will be the yoga trainer.
