PASIGHAT, Sep 10: The 3-month long state level foundation training course for the horticulture field staff organized by the Horticulture department of East Siang district came to an end here at the Pasighat Horticulture Training Centre on Thursday.
The training programme which was started in January this year was scheduled to conclude at the end of March, but had to be extended due to Covid-19 pandemic. Altogether 19 horticulture field staff across the state underwent training in the first batch and 30 experts from the department and College of Horticulture and Forestry, Pasighat imparted training on various subjects and technological developments in horticulture and allied sectors. 
Chief Guest, Dean, College of Horticulture and Forestry, Professor BN Hazarika congratulated the trainees for successfully completing the training. “It will boost up efficiency and effectiveness and develop a sense of perfection in working strategies besides widening the scope to discharge duties in a better manner,” he asserted. Professor Hazarika also gave away certificates to the trainees and urged them to implement the skill and knowledge gained for development of horticulture in the state. 
The HDOs informed the next batch of training will be conducted from September 16 onwards and accommodation will be provided by the department to the new trainees. DIPRO
