Itanagar, Jul 14: Session’s Judge-Cum-Chairperson District Legal Services Authority(APSLSA), Yupia Jaweplu Chai accompanied by Member Secretary, APSLSA & District Legal Services
Authority (DLSA), Budi Habung along with other APSLSA officials and Paralegal Volunteers made a visit to Oju Welfare Association on July 13.
OWA Chairperson Ratan Anya briefed the team on the functioning and working module of Arunachal Women Helpline-181, a toll free helpline for women who are in distress and under difficult situations. The team inspected the Legal Aid Clinic (LAC) within OWA campus which caters to the legal needs of women and child victims, the lone Specialized Adoption Agency (SAA) of the state, Children Home, Swadhar Greh (a short stay home for women in difficult circumstances) and various other vocational training units running under one roof.
While visiting the homes they made one to one interaction with all the women and children survivors and took cognizance of the issues faced by them. Assuring to provide all possible help in whatever way it is convenient, they also gave several suggestions to provide the legal aid services and livelihood opportunities of the inmates.
Later, an interactive session was held where several valuable suggestions regarding legal procedures were shared. Data on rehabilitation and other initiatives taken for the welfare of the women and child survivors of various schemes was also furnished to the visiting team.
