NAMSAI, Apr 11: Joining with the rest of the country in the Tika Utsav (Vaccine Festival), Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Sunday launched the special vaccination drive ‘Tika Utsav' at Namsai in presence of State BJP General Secretary Chau Zingnu Namchoom who is also MLA Namsai, DC R.K.Sharma, SP D.W.Thongon and DMO Dr N.S. Namchoom.
Mein said that the Tika Utsav is a clarion call from Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for massive inoculation of the Covid19 vaccine to all the eligible people across the country from April 11 to 14 amid the rising of corona virus-positive cases in the country.
Mein exhorted the district administration to make a full effort to carry out a vaccination drive at every circle of the Namsai District and vaccinate as many eligible people through this special campaign and check on zero wastage to increase the vaccination capacity.
Mein also emphasized wearing mask compulsorily and observing the SOP’s regularly and said that vaccination is the only solution to the Covid-19 crisis.
Appealing to every eligible person not to miss the opportunity and get themselves vaccinated, he also called for conducting intensive RT-PCR and TrueNat tests in the district and announced to use the MLA LAD of the three legislators of the district to minimise the cost of RTPCR, so that people of Namsai district can benefit and undergo the covid 19 test in large numbers.
Earlier, DRCHO Dr Tope Yomcha presented a brief report on the Covid 19 vaccination drive of Namsai district.
MLA Namsai Chau Zingnu Namchoom was also administered his second dose of the Covid19 vaccine.
At Yupia, the vaccination drive was formally launched by the District Health Society, Papum Pare at Community Health Centre (CHC) Doimukh today by DRCHO Dr. Neyang Nitik in presence of Medical Officer In-Charge CHC Doimukh Dr. Lobsang Chuki, staff and beneficiaries.
For this specific purpose CHC Doimukh and Judicial Branch, DC Office Yupia have been identified to carry out vaccination drive.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner Papum Pare Pige Ligu strictly directed all Head of departments and their subordinate officers and officials 45 years and above to get themselves vaccinated and to ensure to compliance of COVID-19 appropriate behaviour like wearing mask, social distancing and frequent washing of hands in their office premises. He also stated that failure to follow and adapt the preventive measures will invite penalty of Rs.500 as per order of GoAP.
In Papum Pare district COVID-19 Vaccination drive is carrying out in 16 centres across the district in 04 Community Health Centres at Doimukh, Kimin, Sagalee, Balijan and 12 Primary Health Centres at Chiputha, Hollongi, Jote, Kakoi, Lenka, Leporiang, Mengio, Poma,Tarasso, Parang, Toru and Beysernyello. All eligible beneficiaries are advised to carry their Service Identity card, Adhaar Card, PAN card, MNGREGA Job card, Driving License, Passport or EPIC etc and employment certificate in case of Health Care and Front line Workers for identification during vaccination.
