ITANAGAR, Jun 11: The capital administration today held a meeting on the way forward for a new textbook for primary level school students as proposed by the state government that would provide a detailed insight into the tradition, culture, customs, history, art etc. of Arunachal Pradesh.
Itanagar Capital Region Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom today held a virtual meeting with Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso, mayor Tame Phassang and other stakeholders in this regard.
The DC sought their cooperation in the process of including details like folk dances and songs, fine arts, artifacts, festivals, heritage centres, costumes and ornaments, musical instruments, weaving materials, traditional hunting equipment, traditional crafts like blacksmith, silversmith, artisans etc. so that important aspects are not missed out. 
While informing that the proposed book will cover the state’s culture and traditions and will be included in the syllabus at the primary level and history of Arunachal Pradesh in the syllabus at the secondary level, Director Art and Culture Tamune Messar sought cooperation from all concerned. 
The MLA, mayor, ZPMs Tok Tama, Taro Tagia, Biri Taming, DDSE, GPCs, GPMs, representatives from ANYA, ANSU and other public leaders numbering over 35 who attended the virtual meeting lauded the initiative and shared constructive suggestions.
Later, the DC asked them to submit the details within June 18, adding that the matter would be reviewed again before finalization and then forwarded to the Art and Culture department for approval. DIPRO
