Itanagar, Jul 23: The two entrepreneurs from Arunachal Pradesh who participated in the 49th edition of the IHGF-Delhi fair conducted this time through virtual mode due to Covid pandemic from July 13-19 at the national capital, have been able to generate a good numbers of buyers’ enquiries, both domestic and overseas.
The two participants from the state were Silk Khadi Cluster, Oyan in East Siang district, which is a cluster development project implemented with support from the Union Ministry of MSME and Miri Kuku from Bamboo Valley Creations, Roing in Lower Dibang Valley district. Director General, Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH)  Rakesh Kumar informed that the council since inception has been engaged in efforts in promoting the crafts of different craft clusters by giving them exposure to international markets and special emphasis has been made to provide handholding and business opportunities to the entrepreneurs of the eight Northeastern states, which as a block is one of the richest in terms of sustainable crafts made from natural and eco-friendly materials. More than 25 artisans and entrepreneurs from the NE region participated and displayed their exquisite crafts with complete ranges from water hyacinth, muga silk and eri silk, apart from products made out of cane, bamboo and terracotta. 
Approximately 4150 overseas buyers from 108 countries, buying agents and domestic retail buyers visited the show on the virtual platform to source home, lifestyle, fashion, furniture and textiles products. Not only overseas buyers and departmental stores, major Indian retail/online brands also made their presence felt in the fair. 
As per EPCH estimate, serious business enquiries worth Rs. 320 crores have been generated during the seven-day event. EPCH PR
