ITANAGAR, Jun 17: Along with the rest of the nation, doctors here in the state capital under the banner of Indian Medical Association (IMA) also joined the All India Doctors’ strike today in protest against the assault and violence against doctors in West Bengal.
Dozens of doctors and other medical professionals holding placards and banners under the banner of Indian Medical Association –Arunachal Unit staged dharna in front of the OPD hall Ramakrishna Mission Hospital.
Speaking to media, President, IMA- Arunachal Unit Dr. Lobsang Tsetim disclosed that though the strike has been called for 24 hours but all emergency as well as operations in hospitals, will continue as normal.
Further, condemning the incident in West Bengal and satisfactory resolution of the crisis in West Bengal, President IMA-Arunachal unit also demanded the state government to enhance the model central healthcare protection bill, immediate passing of the proposed Arunachal Pradesh Protection Of Medical Service Personnel And Medical Service Institution (Prevention of Violence And Damage Or Loss Of Property) Bill, 2018.
