PASIGHAT, Jun 12: A three-day Climate Change Adaptation Workshop was organised here at the College of Horticulture & Forestry, CAU by the State Climate Change Cell (SCCC), Department of Environment & Forests, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
The workshop was conducted under National Mission on Sustaining Himalayan Ecosystem (NMSHE) with support from DST Government of India for identifying the vulnerable sectors and imparting risk assessment training for District Level Officers from various Line Departments (Level 3) and Training of Trainers for Institute Professors/Associate Professors & Assistant Professors from JNU Pasighat and CAU Pasighat (Level 4). Preparing Action Plan and making convergence efforts for preparation of DPR on basis of priority sectors were the chief aims of the workshop.
It was inaugurated by Chief Conservator of Forests, EAC, Tezu & CAC Pasighat Gulab Singh, IFS in presence of Dean of College of Horticulture, Pasighat Professor(Dr.) BN Hazarika and Deputy Director ( Environment & Climate Change) & Project Coordinator ( NMSHE) Dohu Robin.
The workshop was attended by officers from various line departments like Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Horticulture, Soil & Water Conservation, Forests & Environment and Professors & Teachers from JNU and CAU Pasighat. Science Policy Officer, IHCAP Divya Mohan and Consultant NABCONs Mumbai Siddharth Bhatia were the resource persons. ES Newsdesk
