ITANAGAR, Jul 3: The Bharatiya Janata Party, State unit has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for extension of free ration distribution scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY). The PM has announced extension of the scheme by five months till the end of November next with an additional estimated outlay of Rs 90,000 crores.
Addressing a press conference, Spokesperson BJP Tadar Dominik said under the initiative 80 crore people specially poor people would get free ration for the next five months. Under the said scheme 5Kg of rice/wheat and one kg of daal to each person of the family would be provided.
 The scheme has been extended in view of the ongoing pandemic, added Tadar while adding that besides  free ration, the Centre has already transferred  Rs 31,000 crore  to almost 20 crore poor  families through Jan Dhan Yojana accounts  in the last three months.
Tadar also added that, One nation, one ration card is a significant move of the government so that any individual would get ration in any corner of the country. Further, speaking on the contribution of BJP and its party workers, he informed that BJP workers are active in 907 districts of the country extending their helping hands to the needy people. 

Meanwhile, responding to fuel price hike as alleged by the Congress party,  Spokesperson  BJP-state unit categorically said that the fluctuation of fuel price depends on crude oil in the international market.  “Extra taxes in fuel shouldn’t be  a major issue. We can  contribute to the economy with such taxes for the development of our state. For how long will we depend on the Centre," he said.
