Yupia, Apr 6: The XX Tadar Tang State Level Football Tournament 2025 entered its most intense phase today as all four quarterfinal matches were played at the Golden Jubilee Stadium, Yupia. With high stakes and passionate performances, the tournament witnessed fierce battles as teams fought for a coveted spot in the semifinals.
In the first quarterfinal of the day, Capital Complex produced a dominant display, overpowering Siang with a resounding 7-0 victory. The defending champions, who had looked in strong form during the league phase, sent a clear message of intent with a commanding performance that leaves them as strong contenders for the title.
In the second fixture, Keyi Panyor edged out a spirited Changlang side in a closely contested match. The game ended 3-2 in favor of Keyi Panyor, who held their nerve in the dying moments to seal their place in the semifinals for the first time in recent history.
The third quarterfinal between Papum Pare and West Siang provided a nail-biting finish. After a 1-1 draw in regulation time, the match was decided via penalties, where Papum Pare held their composure to book a hard-fought semifinal spot.
The final match of the day saw Namsai continue their impressive run with a 2-1 win over Lower Subansiri. Namsai’s consistency and disciplined play have now taken them into the last four, making them one of the surprise packages of this edition.
The semifinals will be played on April 8, at the Golden Jubilee Stadium, Yupia. In the first semifinal, Capital Complex will face off against Papum Pare in what promises to be a clash of two heavyweights. The second semifinal will witness Keyi Panyor taking on a confident Namsai side, with both teams aiming to script history.
