AALO, Oct 6: Meet Advocate Karken Angu Ligo, Special Public Prosecutor under POCSO Act for Additional District Session Judge, Basar and Session Court Aalo, a committed practitioner who has been instrumental in discharging many criminal cases particularly heinous crimes meted out to the girl child.
A native of Angu village in West Siang district, she has dedicatedly worked for the oppressed and the downtrodden.
 ‘The passion for advocacy grew from my schooling days; I wanted to do something for the cause of the unprivileged class of society who are not in a position to wage legal battles for their rights,’ she says.
Financial nor relative concerns have never been able to dissuade her from fighting cases ever since her enrollment as Advocate in December 2008. Having completed her law degree from Banaras Hindu University and internship from Supreme Court of India, Advocate Karken was appointed as Special Public Prosecutor under POCSO Act for ADSJ, Basar and sessions court Aalo in the year 2019.
‘I will continue to work relentlessly in taking up cases under the POCSO Act to give speedy justice to the oppressed classes than taking private cases,’ she says. DIPRO
