PASIGHAT, Jul 4:Special Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Nyali Ete today visited East Siang District and inspected various on-going projects under MGNREGA in five focus areas.

Ete accompanied by PD (DRDA) Sibo Pasing, BDO Omem Dai, ADO and EO (RE) visited Mebo, Balek, Napit, Taki-Lalung villages and held discussion with the locals. To know the ground reality, the Special Secretary inspected link roads in Mebo and Ayeng village under Mebo CD Block, vermin compost scheme at Balek, flood control work at Mongku and Boying, Anganwadi building at Napit and farm-pond at Taki-Lalung and appreciated the implementing agencies.

Pleased at the progress of works, Ete while visiting the farm pond at Taki-lalung opined that it would not be practically usable in the area. He directed the concerned officers to erect “Public Information Board” immediately at all the work/scheme sitesandhighlighted on various technicalities in implementing the schemes and utilization funds for development of the rural masses.They must maintain proper records, reports and photographic evidence carry the work ahead to create durable assets, he further added.

During his visit, the Spl. Secy also held interactive cum consultative meeting with the Gram Panchayat member secretaries at the Siang Guest House and took stock of various works done under FFC (2016-17) and asked to submit “Utilization Certificates” timely.
