Aalo, Jul 24: Pregnant women of the border district of Shi-Yomi who were finding difficulty in getting maternity attention due to the Covid-19 pandemic underwent sonography on July 21 last at the Mechukha CHC which was conducted by the Sonologist for West Siang and Shi-Yomi districts Dr. Jumge Padu.
35 pregnant women of Shi-Yomi under the supervision of the DMO availed the service. The doctor and his team were forced to stay back since there was difficulty in coming back to the district headquarters here due to rain-triggered land blockades at various places.
Posted as Medical Officer at Yomcha and also discharging duties as Awareness-in-Charge Covid-19 since the outbreak of the pandemic, Dr Padu has been untiring in all his assignments.
Weather-proof social distancing arrangement near SBI Aalo, training and production of masks at community levels, felicitation of frontline Covid fighters and production of videos highlighting the dos and don’ts in fighting the coronavirus are some of the innovative works carried out by Dr Padu amid the prevailing pandemic.
