MECHUKHA, Jan 24: Altogether 130 Gram Panchayat members and 4 ZPMs of Shi-Yomi district were felicitated by Pasang D Sona, Speaker State Legislative Assembly, on Sunday at Chu-Pala, Mechukha.
The felicitation programme was organized to honour the newly elected PRI leaders by Sona, who also represents Shi-Yomi district as MLA. 
Addressing the huge gathering, Sona lauded the PRI leaders, government officials and public of Shi-Yomi for peacefully conducting the recent PRI election in the district. 
Calling upon the newly elected PRI leaders not to let down the hopes and aspirations of the public who elected them for a purpose, Sona exhorted them to cooperate with government officers for implementation of various developmental schemes of government.
While stating that it is the responsibility of the PRI members to inform the public about various developmental schemes and programmes of the government, Sona urged the PRI members to know their role and responsibilities and ensure that benefits initiated by the government reach to every individual.
The Speaker also called upon the officers and officials of all government departments of Shi-Yomi to extend all possible cooperation and assistance to PRI leaders for all round developments. He however asked the HoDs not to entertain any schemes or proposals which are individual oriented. All proposals should come from proper channels and should be properly scrutinized.
Meanwhile, informing about the ongoing vaccination drive against COVID-19 across the country, the Speaker asked the PRI members to pass on the information that the vaccine is totally safe and no need to panic.
However, he suggested everyone to follow the health advisories and SOPs issued by the health department from time to time.
DC Shi-Yomi Mito Dirchi also lauded the PRI leaders for their cooperation and support during the election. He further sought for cooperation from each PRI member for all round development of the district.
Informing that the next vaccination drive will take place at Tato and Monigong on January 28, DMO Millo Kunya appealed to every registered beneficiary not to panic and come for vaccination. The vaccine is totally safe and there is no adverse side effect from it, she asserted.
ZPC Yadom Tapo, ZPM Monigong Bogam Jempen, ZPM Tato Yasum Rinya and ZPM Mechukha Maling Koje also spoke on the occasion and extended their gratitude.
