MECHUKHA, Jan 21: Taking serious note of reckless dumping of waste and garbage in the township area, State Assembly Speaker P.D. Sona instructed the department concerned of Shi-Yomi to take immediate corrective measures to curb the menace.
Sona, who represents Shi-Yomi district as MLA, is currently on an official visit to his home district.
He conducted a surprise visit at various locations of Mechukha town on Thursday morning, and expressed serious concern over the reckless dumping of wastes on the roadside and drains.
Stating that cleanliness of A place is prerequisite for growth of tourism, Sona instructed the department concerned to initiate necessary steps to keep the town clean and green.
He also instructed the district administration to issue strict order prohibiting reckless dumping of wastes.
Further, he also instructed the district administration to immediately issue notice against those who parked construction materials on the roadside causing traffic congestion.
He also suggested them to remove all the unwanted signboard, electric poles and wires from the township area.
Meanwhile, he appealed the public to cooperate with government departments and general administration to make the township clean and green.
