ITANAGAR, Feb 8: The Art of Living with support from the Lohit District Administration and APEDA undertook the task of solar electrification of nine government schools under the Circles of Sunpura, Tezu and Wakro in Lohit district. Uninterrupted power supply has helped the students immensely, thanks to the financial support from Bharat Petroleum. Deputy CM Chowna Mein, Social entrepreneur Chinmay Panth and the officials of the BPCL, APEDA, Deputy Commissioner and DDSE have been thanked by the locals.
Sri Sri Rural Development Programme (SSRDP) of the Art of Living is a pioneer in projects located in border districts and difficult terrains. Facing all odds in terms of procurement of men and material, the projects were executed with high-precision and despite the Covid situation, labour and material were arranged from across the country within the given time frame.
In an endeavour to develop local talents for solar installations, SSRDP also took up training of 16 youths for implementing the projects. Despite multiple challenges, the projects have been commissioned well ahead of schedule.
