AALO, Feb 11: The Aalo Town Peoples Welfare and Development Society led by its Chairman Kento Ete met Deputy Commissioner , Siang, Atul Tayeng and held a threadbare discussion on imposing a ban on untraditional ways of fishing in the rivers of the neighbouring district on Thursday.
Ete, disclosed that West Siang administration has banned all forms of untraditional way of fishing within its rivers and tributaries for the past few years on repeated pleas by the ATPWDS. He pleaded that Siang district which shares river boundaries with West Siang in many places also does the same for conservation of the rich variety of aquatic life as wanton fishing has led to diminishing of fish population.’ DIPRO
