ITANAGAR, Mar 25: The Capital Complex Sora Welfare Society (CCSWS) has urged the concerned authority to suspend the   Deputy Commissioner (DC), West Siang, Moki Loyi  immediately for  physically assaulting Pagrik Sora, a teacher.
Addressing media persons at press club here on Thursday, Goge Sora, President CCSWS said, “We are compelled to hold this press conference because the DC had provided false statement through social media that Pagrik Sora had caused obstruction to an On-duty officer, misbehaved and carried a machete (dao) along with him during the incident."
He informed that the incident took place on March 21 at New Market area, Aalo where DC West Siang had physically assaulted Pagrik Sora, who is serving as a senior teacher at Government High Secondary, Pessing without any provocation and fault causing several injuries. Presently, he is being treated at Dibrugarh hospital, Assam.
Terming it a ‘criminal act’, Goge said that the DC has misused his official power by subjecting Pagrik Sora over a petty issue of vehicle parking along the road side.
"Therefore, besides demanding the suspension or transfer of the DC so as to ensure impartial investigation of the case, we demand for a departmental proceeding too to be initiated against him for gross misconduct as per CSS rules and punished adequately," he added.
Regarding the issue, the CCSWS has submitted a representation to Chief Secretary (CS).
Further, Goge informed that through the  Sessions Court, an FIR is registered against the DC at Police Station (PS), West Siang, Aalo after an unexplained delay of four days from the date it was submitted as the FIR was against a high level officer.
