AALO, Sep 10: The Aalo Town Peoples' Welfare and Development Society led by its chairman Kento Ete met Deputy Commissioner Penga Tato and apprised him of the burning issues.
Overwhelmed by the gesture shown to him by the senior members of Aalo town, the DC assured all support for the growth, development and welfare of the people of the district.
Any meaningful service in the district can be rendered by the DC only with cooperation of senior citizens, PRIs, youth and developmental agencies, Tato said.
Peace and tranquility is a pre-requisite to take up developmental and welfare activities, the DC said urging the society members represented by former ministers, retired government servants, PRIs and public leaders to play a proactive role and cooperate with the administration to build a congenial atmosphere to take up welfare measures and sort out problems.
Chairman ATPWDS Kento Ete said that the society has been taking up many welfare measures concerning the people since its inception but there are certain issues where administrative and public leaders' intervention is quite necessary. He disclosed that the society will soon place agenda of issues concerning Aalo town and appealed the DC to look into those issues on merit.
Former minister and Chief Advisor ATPWDS, Doi Ado said that issue like drug menace among the youth, inordinate delay in construction of stadium and above all disruption and isolation of the district from the rest during this monsoon has been unprecedented and called for a comprehensive plan to address these issues.
