ITANAGAR, Apr 19: Social activist Sol Dodum on Tuesday appealed to the state government for a permanent PHED Executive Engineer in the East Kameng district headquarters replacing the present EE In-charge.
Dodum who reached the state capital on Monday after a 225km long foot march from Seppa, today along with various organizations and like-minded people organized a rally from Akashdeep to Tennis Court ground in the heart of Itanagar.
Addressing the gathering, he also demanded formation of an SIT to investigate the recent attack on him and his members during a peaceful protest at Seppa on April 12 last. Departmental action against the EE-PHED, Seppa, transfer of Deputy Commissioner  East Kameng and registering a case to investigate corruption involved in the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) at Lai Moya, WTP at Macha and water supply project at Kuchi Nallah, were his demands.  
Speaking to reporters, Dodum said that present Executive Engineer, PHED Seppa  should be relieved from the post of EE in-charge claiming that the official has been serving in the post since 2015. This is beyond the tenure in the same district. Therefore, he should be relieved from the post and a new permanent EE should be posted to the district, he added.
“The people of Seppa Township should be immediately provided with potable water and a magisterial enquiry should be initiated in the recent cement refilling of damaged roads due to laying of water pipeline," stated Dodum.
Further alleging that the department is not responding to information sought through RTI, he said the matter must be investigated by SIT. Dodum also questioned the delay in arresting the rest of the accused involved in the attack on him by the district police.
