Aalo, Sep 4: The Skill Upgradation Training on Wood Carving, Thanka, Painting and Carpet Making under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) was inaugurated by Shi-Yomi Deputy Commissioner Mito Dirchi at the Mechuka Craft Centre on September 3 last.
Exhorting the trainees to learn new skills from the training, DC said village folk can double their income by producing their handicrafts during leisure hours without hampering their principal profession. “Mechuka valley has rich tourism potential and demand for such products in the district would increase,” he said. ADYH Teresa Padu spoke in detail on the main objectives of the programme.
