ZIRO, Apr 27: A week-long skill development training under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) got underway at ITI Manipolyang, Ziro. A total of 6307 candidates will be given Residential Skill Development Training under JJM by the Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, through three Empanelled Training Providers-- Reflexions Digital Pvt Ltd, Zentex Educare Society and Yuva Arunachal on sponsorship by the Department of PHE&WS. All the candidates have been selected by the Department of PHE&WS from various villages of the state and will be trained in Plumber, Mason and Electrician trade.
 From Lower Subansiri, a total of 323 candidates will undergo training and the first batch of 60 candidates of 30 each in Plumber and Mason respectively has started the training. 
Inaugurating the training, Deputy Commissioner, Lower Subansiri, Somcha Lowang advised the candidates to utilise the opportunity and cater to the need of in-village water supply maintenance after the training. Skill Development Training under JJM is also going on in full swing at Tawang and West Kameng and will start in all other districts shortly.

The Government of India has launched Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) with an objective of providing functional household tap water supply at level of 55 Litres Per Capita per Day (LPCD) to each household in the country by 2024. In the programme, the communities have been entrusted the responsibility of in-village water supply components and its operation and maintenance.  For facilitating the same, a cadre of skilled manpower would be required in the field of masonry, plumbing and electrification, for which the Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship has taken the responsibility to provide the skill training in the three job roles.
The programme was attended by Er. Kago Habung, EE PHEW&S, Ziro, Gyati Kacho Principal ITI Ziro and Jyotiska Maitre, Director Reflexions Digital Pvt Ltd- Training Provider.
