ROING, Mar 13: A one-day Annual Skill Mela Cum Skill Development Sensitization Awareness Rally was conducted today at the Government Industrial Training Institute, Roing by the Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, in collaboration with Lower Dibang Valley district administration.
Flagging off the rally, Janesh Sahni, Executive Director of Dibang Multipurpose Project, NHPC, Roing highlighted on Skill India. He advised that skill makes the youth self-reliant and getting a job becomes secondary if the youths adapt quality skills. He encouraged all the unemployed youths to avail the golden opportunity of Skill Mela.
Soumya Saurabh(IAS), Deputy Commissioner Cum Chairperson of the District Skill Committee emphasised that the youth should abstain from drug addiction and devote themselves in acquiring skills. She also advised all the youth present to aim for bigger goals.
Komji Linggi, ZPM(Roing) and Subash Pertin, Principal (ITI) also spoke on the occasion and mobilised the younger generation to learn new skills and become self-reliant.
Representatives from Zentek Educational and Welfare Society, Value Fabtex and Future Vision participated in the Skill Mela 2021-22 as training providers. Altogether 186 unemployed youths participated in the rally, of which 154 candidates registered themselves for different vocational trainings with the Training Providers.
