BOLENG, Aug 5: A skill development training for locals in Plumber and Masonry trades as part of implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in Siang district was inaugurated today by DC Atul Tayeng here at the Government Higher Secondary School.
The 7-day training programme is a collaborative effort by the departments of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Public Health Engineering & Water Supply wherein 322 trainees will be trained by professionals. Appreciating the initiative the DC emphasised on community involvement for realising the goal of local self-employment which is a significant aspect of the JJM. EE PHE & WS (Pangin Division) Kaling Taki stressed on the need to develop skills by the locals for sound maintenance of the in-village components of the water supply systems.
Due to communication bottlenecks within the district, Boleng (for Boleng and Riga Blocks), Pangin (for Rebo Perging and Pangin Blocks and Jomlo (for Rumggong, Kaying and Payum Blocks) have been chosen as venues for these skill trainings. DIPRO
