ITANAGAR, MAY 2: Inspired by the movement launch by activist Sol Dodum demanding clean drinking in Seppa town, six individuals reached Itanagar on Monday after walking 250km on foot from the East Kameng headquarters.
Speaking to the media, Hakya Mangam, President Save Arunachal Save Generation who led the group said they were inspired by the activist who is fighting for public interest. " To extend our support to Sol Dodum, who is fighting for common issues of the public, we decided to follow him and walked from Seppa to Itanagar. Though the government has assured to provide clean water within a month, but the project should be made properly as per the guidelines of Water Treatment Plant and SIC/SIT investigation in the whole episode," he said.
Earlier, receiving the team here at the Tennis Court, Dodum said that such support from the people has boosted his morale to fight against corruption. "Almost 20 days passed, but the government is reluctant to take any strong action against the corruption prevailing in the PHED department Seppa," alleged Dodum while informing that soon he will resort to another democratic movement.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner- ICR has allowed Dodum to stage a rally from Tennis Court to Rajbhavan as a part of his protest on May 5 next.
