ITANAGAR, Sep 23:  Special Investigation Team (SIT) has arrested one Avinash Verma from Noida following a complaint by an Itanagar based complainant for using her morphed picture and uploading in a porn site named ‘Desi Masala Board’.
Addressing the mediapersons at the Police Headquarters, SP (SIT-Crime), Rohit Rajbir Singh said that accused Avinash Verma is the main culprit involved in operating pornographic adult entertainment through his website ‘Desi Masala Board’ by morphing pictures of girls from Arunachal Pradesh and other parts of the country.
He said earlier this month a written complaint was received from the complainant stating that some fake images of an Arunachalee girl, who happens to be his cousin, have been uploaded by a username “Godfather’’ in the porn site.
According to the complaint letter, most of the pictures were taken from the victim’s Instagram account. This had caused unbearable mental trauma to the victim, and thus she came for redressal of her grievances.
“Accordingly, Crime Branch Police Station FIR No. 09/2021 U/S 292(2)(a)/509 IPC R/W Sec.6 of Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, R/W Sec. 67(A) of IT Act was registered and investigation taken up by Inspector Chapang Lowang,” he said.
Highlighting the investigation process, Singh said that the profile name ‘Godfather’ is the admin of the porn website. Avinash Verma is the admin and he also acted in popular TV show “Savdhaan India”.
After ascertaining the current location as well as the home address of the accused, a Non-Bailable Warrant of Arrest and search warrant was obtained from the court of CJM Yupia. 
“Accordingly,  a four-member SIT team led by Inspector Chapang Lowang, SI Wokim Mungray, Ct.G.L Ray and Ct. Sanjeev Kumar went to the Delhi NCR region and arrested the accused from Exotica Dreamville, Gaur City 2, Noida, Uttar Pradesh and brought him to Crime Branch Police Station, (SIT) PHQ Itanagar on transit remand,” he added.
During the interrogation, the accused revealed his ownership of the porn website and also the super moderator named ‘Godfather’ who uploaded the content.
“The accused has been running the website since 2018. The morphed photographs of the victim were uploaded in January 2019. The website has access to contents with different categories like images of nude girls, pornographic videos,” he informed.
Singh said the accused has a unique business model. He earns money from three sources – one, by inviting guest subscribers who can become premium or platinum members by taking different payment plans. This is received in an account of AVIFITNESS on the digital wallet platform Razorpay. Second, he also gets money for hosting advertisements on his webpage from a website Juicyads.com and others in the form of bitcoins cryptocurrency in a wallet on the platform Crypto.com and Coinbase.
Another source of income is also through advertisement for sale and purchase of online articles which are co-related with the advertising sites in the website, again through Coinbase.
