PASIGHAT, Apr 29: After ten long years of waiting, the Sisar (Sisiri) bridge over Sisar river between East Siang and Lower Dibang Valley districts along National Highway-52 is almost ready for use with its both ends nearing completion.
The bridge will provide better connectivity within the state’s western and central parts Itanagar and Pasighat with the eastern section such as Roing, Tezu, Namsai etc without touching Assam.
The bridge will bring much respite to the residents of both the eastern and western parts of state who face communication bottlenecks especially during monsoon every year. The distance which can be covered within 2-3 hours from Pasighat to Roing and Tezu during fair season, takes almost 6-7 hours of travelling via Amarpur, Sapakowa, Sadiya etc in Assam entailing ferry rides and involving time and expenses.
The Sisiri bridge completion along with boosting of defence movement along the Kibithu sector is likely to increase tourist footfalls as natural beauty of the area is abundant as well as breathtaking.
