ITANAGAR, Mar 4: The special investigation cell (SIC) has arrested two more people in connection with the alleged misappropriation in the Komsing Kumku- Sissen PMGSY road project fund.
SIC has arrested the then Junior Engineer, RWD, Kaying Division, Tobing Lego, and contractor of the said project, Obang Gao in connection with the case on Friday.
Speaking to reporters, SP (SIC) Hemant Tiwari said that Lego, who is presently posted at RWD, Roing, and contractor, Obang Gao were summoned and questioned by the police today.
During questioning, both could not answer queries satisfactorily and were arrested around 4:00 pm. Both of them have been sent for medical examination.
Meanwhile responding to the press statement given by Team Clean Siang District (TCSD) for re-investigation of the case, the SP said that the investigation in the case is yet to be completed and no clean-chit has been given to any of the officers involved in the said project.
Tiwari also said that no complaint has been received by the SIC by the contractor Obang Gao on the corruption charge against AE Tasi Messar. He added that the complaint letter doing the rounds on social media has not been received by the SIC, and has not been signed by the complainant
“If the SIC receives a complaint from the contractor, Obang Gao, we will definitely investigate the matter,” he added.
ITANAGAR: Team Clean Siang District (TCSD), today urged the Superintendent of Police, Special Investigation Cell (SIC) to arrest all the people involved in the Komsing Kumku- Sissen PMGSY road project scam and also to re-investigate the case by appointing different investigation officer.
Speaking to media, Chairman TCSD, Janu Tatin appreciated the SIC for arresting persons involved in corruption practices, however, he informed that, the team has submitted a representation to the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh to intervene in the case.
Besides the case of misappropriation of funds, some officers are also involved in extortion which needs to the unearthed, he added.
"The contractor himself has claimed that, Assistant Engineer of the RWD- Pangin has demanded a huge sum of money from him with the condition to release his (Contractor) bills. So, there should be proper inquiry of the case, and all the persons involved directly or indirectly in the scam must be arrested," Tatin said.
