BOLENG, Jun 17: The current Covid-19 status of Siang district was reviewed today in a meeting chaired by DC Atul Tayeng, participated by the health officials wherein deliberations were made on issues such as rate of sample testing, vaccination coverage and status of medical infrastructure.
After being apprised by DRCHO Dr. Kaling Tamuk that the electoral roll based process is not accommodating the 'floating population' who reside or are employed outside the district, the DC asked for an immediate and thorough village-wise head count to reach a true estimate of the targeted population for vaccination of all age groups. DMO Dr. Rachel Darung and DSO Dr. Amar Darung shared the details of the intensive random testing being undertaken in the district. The DC underlined the importance of involving the panchayat leaders and HGBs/GBs to dispel doubts surrounding testing or vaccination.
An augmented vaccination drive with outreach sessions to be led by Incident Commanders and I/c Covid Vaccination Centres (CVCs) in conjunction with PRI representatives and HGBs/GBs was approved in the meeting. DIPRO
