PASIGHAT, Jul 23: In-charge Deputy Commissioner of East Siang Tatdo Borang (ADC) today convened a review meeting with the members of the District Core Committee on Covid management to take stock of Covid-19 management related issues here at the conference hall of DC’s office.
The core committee members included JDHS Dr. D. Raina, DMO Dr. Kaling Dai and senior officers of the District Administration. After taking stock of the number of daily tests being carried out and treatment protocols followed in the district, Borang lauded the combined efforts of the DA and health department in achieving 105% coverage (according to electoral roll). Continue with rigorous testing, tracking and treatment and make judicious use of available manpower and other resources so that best treatment could be delivered to the patients, the I/c DC said. 
After taking suggestions from the JDHS and DMO, Borang permitted to operate shopping malls with 50% capacity along with the instruction that the employees of malls should compulsorily wear masks and maintain Covid Appropriate Behavior. The proprietors should ensure that all their employees have undergone RATs in every 10 days and such reports are to be submitted to SDO (Sadar), the I/c DC underscored. All services requiring close contact with customers such as barber shops, saloon, beauty parlors, spas etc. will also be allowed to operate with 50% capacity and their proprietors should ensure that all employees are RAT tested in every 10 days and reports in this regard are submitted to the respective Administrative Officers. 
The I/c DC instructed the magistrates and police personnel to ensure that Covid Appropriate Behavior such as hand-washing, wearing of masks, sanitization, social distancing, mandatory screening for Covid symptoms etc. are implemented effectively in the entire district. He further informed that the earlier declared containment areas such as Upper Banskota, Lower Banskota and Fire brigade area have been unsealed and Niglok, Boying and Mebo industrial area are the new places that have been sealed following the recommendations of the DMO. All shops and commercial establishments would be shut down at 2pm on all days followed by evening curfew from 3pm to 5am.
Earlier, the JDHS and DMO informed that Covid positivity rate in the district is decreasing, situation is under control and below alarming level and 25 samples have been sent to Jorhat for identification and confirmation of variants. DIPRO
