MEDO, Mar 11: The Brahma Kumaris sub-centre today celebrated the Maha Shiv Jayanti here at the Shanti Kund with fervour and traditional gaiety.
Twelve Shiva Lingas are being exhibited depicting the respective names of Lord Shiva and a 5-feet Shiva Linga is also erected within the premises for the devotees to offer prayers. Flag hoisting and spiritual exhibition were the other attractions of the day. Former MLA Sokio Dellang gave a discourse on the significance of Shiva Jayanti. Social worker from Wakro, Tasaso Yun dwelt on the details of the celebration and urged the locals to give up animal sacrifice in the rituals. Centre In-charge BK Janyanti while explaining the significance of the festival said that 85th Mahashivaratri symbolizes the birth of all Brahma Kumars and Brahma Kumaris who work tirelessly to keep afloat the flag of the Supreme Soul (Lord Shiva).
Cultural dances, spiritual talks, cake cutting ceremony, meditation practices were the other activities held on the day.
