 ITANAGAR, Jul 25:   To encourage and motivate deprived school children, Jeli Kayi of Indian Idol fame visited the government upper primary school, IG Park, Itanagar and interacted with children. The visit was the part of “Shiksha Hi Shakti” program organized by capital based NGO United Charity.

The program is an initiative to confer free tuition and co- curricular activities like cultural, sports, personality developments etc to the deprived  school children.

In his interaction, Kayi briefed the students on the importance of education in one’s life and urged them to give equal importance to academic career as well as to extracurricular activities.

Appreciating the members of the NGO for their noble cause, Head Master Nyajum Yinyo, informed that the school management committee has submitted proposal for infrastructure development like school boundary wall, Toilet for both boys and Girls, extension of school building of two rooms, water tank, renovation maintenance of school building and playground but is yet to get a response from concern authority.

School is located in the heart of the city but it seems that the government and school authority is neglecting this school, said UC chairperson, Sangge Droma.
