Mechuka, Dec 14: The first-ever Kisan Mela of Shi-Yomi district was held here at the Old CPO Hall on Sunday organised by the Department of Agriculture and attended by more than 150 farmers from Tato, Monigiong and Mechuka.
Inaugurating the fair, Deputy Commissioner Mito Dirchi urged the district’s farmers to shift from sustenance farming methods to commercial organic agriculture and avail benefits from the available schemes rolled out by the department. He also distributed agri tools to them on the occasion. Agriculture Development Officer Tojo Bam informed about the schemes being implemented by the department.
