ITANAGAR, Dec 24:  All Shi-Yomi District Students’ Union (ASYDSU) on Friday demanded the state government to immediately shift the Head of Departments (HODs) offices to the district headquarters Tato.
Addressing media persons here at the press club, General Secretary Jura Diru said that even after the inauguration of Tato as the headquarters, the district administration and several HoDs offices are unofficially at Mechukha which is 50 km away from the district headquarters.
"Earlier, under the In-charge of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Gamtum Padu at least people were getting Permanent Residence Certificates (PRC) and Schedule Tribe Certificates on time, but after incumbent Deputy Commissioner Mito Dirchi took over the charge, people are facing innumerable problems," claims Diru.
Inspection Bunglow (IB) at Tato has been allotted to the DC and Superintendent of Police (SP) but they are reluctant to stay, he added.
While demanding for immediate installation of Internet facilities and improvement of electricity in the headquarters, the Union further appealed to the state government to direct the district administration to respond to the demands failing which it said they would be forced to opt for bandh call in the entire Shi-Yomi district.
