ITANAGAR, Nov 2: A day-long seminar on “Basic Sports Physiotherapist Management-on and off Field” was conducted here at the conference hall of the Sports Authority of Arunachal, Chimpu today.
Badminton Association of India Executive Committee Member Bamang Tago said that all stakeholders tend to compromise sports health issues and although Arunachal has more than thirty-eight state level registered sports associations including the Arunachal Olympic Association, none of them have sport physiotherapists including the government-run SLSA which is a serious concern. Dr Manish Deepak Pardeshi, a renowned sports physiotherapist deliberated on the pressing issues of the subject. He stressed that sport physiotherapy is much different from normal physiotherapy and mandatory in all sports disciplines.
Coaches from the Directorate of Sports including private coaches from various state sports associations participated in the unique programme which was the first of its kind in Arunachal Pradesh. 
SAI Assistant Director Gaurav Rawat informed that world class infrastructure for wushu, boxing and weightlifting are being established at Chimpu under the initiative of the Union Sports Ministry and it shall be completed soon. 1992 Commonwealth gold medallist weightlifter and presently a SAI weightlifting coach Harnam Singh, 2017 World Wushu Championship gold medallist Puja Kadian and Joint Secretary, Karate Association of India Balung Marik also shared their experiences.  
The event was facilitated by the Directorate of Sports in collaboration with the Badminton Association of India.
