ITANAGAR, Nov 10: The selected candidates of the 7th batch of Itanagar Traffic Warden (ITW) on Wednesday threatened to go on a hunger strike demanding immediate job recruitment as per advertisement vide no. DC/ICC/Traffic-01/2020 dated 16 June, 2021.
Addressing reporters at Press Club here, one of the candidate said, “Since three months we have not been appointed/engaged even after completion of all official procedure including training process."
The Deputy Commissioner, ICC had assured that candidates of serial no. 1 -7 will be appointed soon after completion of training period of 15 days. The training was done successfully. Despite completion of all official procedures, the commissioner’s office issued an order regarding abeyance of all selected ITWs and waiting list candidates till further order citing the ongoing agitation of old batch of ITWs.
“The DC had told us that old batch of ITWs are not accepting the fresh recruitment," a candidate said, terming it totally baseless reason. A candidate informed that the DC had asked them to sign an undertaking to be appointed only for four months after which they have to leave the job.
Therefore, we appeal to the higher authorities to look into our matter and address us at the earliest, they added.
